About

Rising New York Road Runners Logo Take the kids out to The Armory in Upper Manhattan for a fun day of track and field events! Kids can choose from age-appropriate activities they'd like to try, including dashes, shot put, long jump, and more! The Armory is a world-class indoor track and field facility, and this event is a perfect way to introduce kids to the sport.

Registration for this event is FREE and open to participants ages 2 to 18 of all abilities. Every finisher will receive a New Balance sweatband set. Please note that souvenirs are subject to availability.

  • Stage 1: Register on this page only for participants ages 2 to 11 who are new to running and physical activity, for non-competitive short dashes and activities.
  • Stage 2: Visit the Stage 2 page to register participants ages 8 to 18 for untimed and non-competitive activities.

The chart below is a guide to the stages available. Use the chart to determine the appropriate stage for your child. If you need help determining your child's stage, contact our Runner Services team.

Your child is new to physical activity or running, but likes playing games and being active.
2 8 to 18 Non-competitive
Untimed medium distances

Your child likes running, but isn’t ready for a competitive event. Your child likes playing games and being active.
3 12 to 18 Competitive
Timed longer distances
Fitness activities
Your child is comfortable running a longer distance and racing other kids in a competitive setting.

Planning to check a bag on race morning? While we will continue to have clear plastic bags available at number pickup, we encourage you to use your own clear reusable plastic bag, no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep, with the tag affixed.

NYRR is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen bags or items from bags checked at NYRR bag check.

Cancellation Policy

 

If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.
