Boogie down in the Bronx at the Boogie Down Kids Run at the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile. This event will feature a “field day”-style morning for kids in Joyce Kilmer Park. Join us for some running, fun activities, and games in this vibrant New York City borough. 

Registration for this event is FREE and open to participants ages 2 to 18 of all abilities. Every finisher will receive a medal and a New Balance sweatband set. Please note that souvenirs are subject to availability. 

  • Stage 3: Register on this page only for participants ages 12 to 18 for a timed and competitive 1-mile race.
  • Stage 2: Visit the Stage 2 page to register participants ages 8 to 18 for an untimed non-competitive 0.5-mile run. 
  • Stage 1: Visit the Stage 1 page to register participants ages 2 to 11 that are new to running and physical activity, for non-competitive short dashes.

Race Number Pickup

 

Race numbers may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth Avenues) on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, September 10, 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 11, 9:00 a.m. -7:30 p.m.

  • Friday, September 13, 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 14, 9:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.  
  • Sunday, September 15, 9:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m. 
  • Monday, September 16, 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, September 17, 9:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.

Parents and guardians of runners are encouraged to pick up race numbers at the NYRR RUNCENTER to avoid race-day lines.

On race day, Stage 3 race number pickup will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 9:05 a.m. at Race-Day Central, located in Joyce Kilmer Park. If you plan to pick up a runner's race number on race day, please arrive at least 60 minutes before the start of their run.

Race Day


Bag Check

 

Bag check will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Race-Day Central in Joyce Kilmer Park.

Planning to check a bag on race morning? While we will continue to have clear plastic bags available at number pickup, we encourage you to use your own clear reusable plastic bag, no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep, with the tag affixed.

NYRR is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen bags or items from bags checked at NYRR bag check.

Start Location / Map

Participants will run an out-and-back course that starts and finishes on E. 165th Street and Grand Concourse (at the adult New Balance Bronx 10 Mile start line). Runners will begin by heading northeast toward Marcy Place, make a U-turn shortly after passing E. Clark Place, and then head back to the start line.

Souvenirs

 

Finishers will receive a medal and a New Balance sweatband set. Please note that souvenirs are subject to availability.

Souvenirs will only be distributed on race day from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the orange Rising New York Road Runners souvenir tent at Race-Day Central in Joyce Kilmer Park. A youth race number must be presented to collect the event souvenir.

Results

 

After the conclusion of the event, official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org.

Awards

 

Awards will be given to the overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place girl, boy, and non-binary Boogie Down Kids Run at the New Balance Bronx 10 Mile - Stage 3 finishers. Awards will only be distributed on event day at the race finish.

Cancellation Policy

 

If NYRR cancels an offering on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.
