Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and join us at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Sunday, October 1, where kids can hit the scenic trails for a fun cross country race! The Rising New York Road Runners at the NYRR Van Cortland Park Cross Country #2 is the second in a three-race series introducing youth athletes to the joy of cross country. The Rising New York Road Runners at the NYRR Van Cortland Park Cross Country #1 is scheduled for Sunday, September 24 and the Rising New York Road Runners at the NYRR Van Cortland Park Cross Country #3 will close out the series on Sunday, November 19.
Registration for this event is FREE and open to participants ages 2 to 18 of all abilities. Every finisher will receive a New Balance cinch bag.

Why Run with Rising New York Road Runners?
Rising New York Road Runners events are designed to be fun, inclusive, and an opportunity for our youth to see what they are capable of. Registration for all Rising New York Road Runners events is completely free and made possible by the generosity of our community.
The chart below is a guide to the stages available. Use the chart to determine the appropriate stage for your child. If you need help determining your child's stage, contact our Runner Services team.

Participants should report to the corrals 15 minutes before the start of their race. Staff will walk participants to the start line.
