Support the important mission of Achilles International by participating in the Achilles Hope & Possibility® 4M Presented by TD Bank on Saturday, July 10 in honor of the 31st anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Disability Pride Month.

Since 1983, Achilles International has been transforming the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. The global organization has empowered over 150,000 athletes of all ages and ability levels to participate in endurance events around the globe.

Although the pandemic halted many in-person racing events, Achilles has continued to provide critical programming and virtual opportunities for athletes worldwide. Whether it is mental health initiatives or training support to maintain an active lifestyle, Achilles will always be there to bring hope, inspiration, and the joys of achievement to all.

Follow and use #GoAchilles on social media to follow along leading up to race day and celebrate this inspiring community.

Updates on Race-Day Procedures: This race will operate under NYRR's revised race-day safety protocols, which, beginning with this race, will include a return to mass starts. This policy is in effect only for our weekly races.

All participants will receive a New Balance Short Sleeve Tech Tee at number pickup.

If you are unable to pick up your bib before race day, please sign up for race morning bib pickup, and please plan to arrive at the start area in Central Park 60 minutes prior to your assigned start time. Your assigned start time can be found in your race details email, which you will receive during race week.

Bag Check

Bag check will be located near the start and finish area. Please check back closer to race day for exact location. The bag check area is for runners only.

Runners who wish to check a bag can enter the bag check area starting 30 minutes prior to their wave start. If runners have a reusable clear bag no larger than 17" wide x 20" high x 7" deep, those will be accepted on race day. Otherwise, we will have clear bags onsite for runners to use. All bag check tags should be affixed to runner bags before dropping it off with NYRR staff. Runners should claim their bag immediately after finishing their race and exiting the finish area.

Toilets

There will be portable toilets located near the start and finish areas. Attendants will be on-site from the portable toilet provider to sanitize the units. There will also be hand sanitizer dispensers near the start and finish areas for all runners to use.

Course Safety and Amenities

Unlike previous NYRR races, the course will be open—without delineation (traffic cones and barricades) or volunteer course marshals—so please remember to share the roadway with other park patrons. There will be no lead vehicles or cyclists to clear the way, so runners should pay attention to their surroundings and stay in the left-hand, recreation lane.

There will be fluid stations on course with bottled water, and but no restrooms on the course. Runners are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, and hydration belts will be permitted. Any hydration pack worn over the shoulder will not be permitted.

Course Description

The race will start on East Drive at East 68th Street and run north toward the 102nd Street Cross Drive.

At the 102nd Street Cross Drive, runners will turn left onto the Cross Drive, and then take another left at the end of the road, onto West Drive proceeding south.

Runners will finish on West Drive near West 69th Street.

Finish-Line Procedure and Souvenir Distribution

We ask that runners exit the park immediately after receiving their amenities, continuing south towards Columbus Circle or the West 67th Street exit onto Central Park West.
