The SHAPE + Health Women's Half-Marathon is back and better than ever! Join us for the 17th anniversary of this race that brings together thousands of women from all over the world for a day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie in NYC. And this year, we're adding another shorter distance option to welcome even more runners! Whether you're coming from across the country or from around the corner, join SHAPE, Health, and New York Road Runners in Central Park on Sunday, April 10, 2022 for an unforgettable race.

Every entrant will receive a commemorative New Balance race shirt (size subject to availability) and every finisher in the half-marathon will receive a medal.

SHAPE + Health are proud to support Food Bank For New York City’s “Woman to Woman” campaign, which raises critical funds to ensure that all women and girls in New York City have access to the period products, hygiene essentials, and food they need to thrive. Food Bank For New York City will be collecting product donations on race day. Please consider dropping off a product donation at the Food Bank For New York City tent in the Race Day Festival located at the Naumburg Bandshell on your way to the start line! Suggested donations include tampons, maxi pads, feminine wipes, baby wipes, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, bath soap, adult diapers, and diapers.

  • This race will operate under our Safety Procedures at NYRR Races guidelines. As part of these guidelines, all runners must be able to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 in order to participate. Read more about our COVID-19 vaccination policy.

Race Number Pickup

 

Numbers (which include your timing tag) may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street (between Eighth and Ninth avenues) on the following dates: 

  • Monday, April 4: 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 5: 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 6: 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 7: 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, April 8: 10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 9: 10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

At number pickup, you will also receive the souvenir for this race, a short-sleeved New Balance tech T-shirt.

Please register for a pickup time in advance. You can now reserve your pickup time through the dashboard of your NYRR account. The RUNCENTER will be closed on Sunday, April 3 and Sunday, April 10.

To register for a pickup time, log in to your NYRR account and navigate to the “Registered Events” section of your dashboard. Next to the listing for this race, click the dropdown menu to select a time slot for number pickup. Time slots are available in one-hour windows, and you can visit the RUNCENTER to pick up your race materials any time within the hour/time slot you select.

On race day, number pickup will be available from 6:30 to 8:00 a.m. at Race-Day Central, located near the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. If you are planning to pick up your materials on race day, please arrive at least 90 minutes prior to the start of the race.

Please note: All runners must be able to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 while picking up their race materials, whether at the NYRR RUNCENTER during race week or on site on race day. Read our COVID-19 vaccine policy page for more information, including what you'll need to have with you in order to show proof of vaccination.

Show your race confirmation email or the QR code from your NYRR account to pick up your race materials. Proxy bib pickup is available for this race, so a friend or family member can pick up your race materials for you. The person will need the QR code for your NYRR account, along with copies of your proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and a form of photo identification that corresponds to your proof of vaccination.

 

Race Day


NYRR Pace Team

 

Members of the NYRR Pace Team will be on hand to guide participants toward specific goal times over the 13.1 miles. Pace Team members will lead groups at various paces between 8:00 per mile and 12:35 per mile (between a 1:45:00 finish and a 2:45:00 finish).

If you choose to run with a pace group, you can look for members of the NYRR Pace Team in the start corrals wearing their blue-and-white-striped NYRR Pace Team singlets. Each Team member will carry signs that correspond with their respective finish times and paces.

Bag Check

 

Bag check will be available at Race-Day Central, near the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park, starting at 6:30 a.m.

Face Coverings

 

It is recommended for all runners to wear a face covering while in the start corral and in the post-finish area. Runners will not be required to wear a face covering on the course.

Course Description

 

The start is in Central Park on West Drive near 64th Street. You’ll complete two full counter-clockwise loops of the park, after which you’ll start a third loop and turn left onto the 72nd Street Transverse just past the 13-mile mark. The finish line is just west of the Naumburg Bandshell.

Live, unofficial results will be available in the NYRR Racing App and at liveresults.nyrr.org during the event.

After the conclusion of the event, official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org.

Awards will be presented on site to the top-four finishers in the overall women division only. Women who place in the top-three of their age group will be able to claim an award in the days following the race by filling out our Age-Group Awards Claim Form.

Cancellation Policy

 

If NYRR cancels an offering due to an increase of local COVID-19 cases or on the direction of local, city, or state authorities, participants will be informed as soon as possible, including communication of participant resolution options. Events will not be rescheduled.
