The application is open for the RBC Brooklyn Half, taking place May 20 from the Brooklyn Museum to Coney Island. We’re thrilled this race is returning as an in-person event after two years as virtual-only.

The RBC Brooklyn Half, which has been on the NYRR calendar since 1981 and is the largest half-marathon in the country with 27,000+ finishers in 2019, is a race like no other, with an iconic course, incredible energy, and FOMO-inducing spirit.

The Course and Finish

The RBC Brooklyn Half course is an amazing tour of the Borough of Kings. The route starts at the Brooklyn Museum and runs past Grand Army Plaza, around Prospect Park, and down Ocean Parkway to a stunning finish on the Coney Island boardwalk.

This race is about everything that makes Brooklyn, Brooklyn—from gorgeous parks to tree-lined streets, diverse neighborhoods, and the beach. If they’re not running, locals and visitors are out cheering from the sidelines or volunteering at the start, course, and finish.

The Party

2019 Brooklyn Half preparty

The RBC Brooklyn Half Pre-Party kicks off race week and keeps the energy high. The pre-party—where runners pick up their race materials—has featured recreational activities, New Balance merchandise, local food trucks, and much more. Stay tuned for more details!

The party continues after the finish line with runners celebrating with friends and family at the after-party and all along the boardwalk.

The Cheers

Spectators line the 13.1-mile course—cup of coffee in one hand, inspiring cheer sign in the other. You’ll feel supported every step of the way!

The Training

2019 Brooklyn Half course

The Purpose

Runners can gain guaranteed entry by running with NYRR Team for Kids, our charity supporting NYRR youth and community programs. TFK is a team of adult runners who add meaning to their miles through fundraising.

The History

The Brooklyn Half began in 1981. It's followed different routes over the years, including a start on the boardwalk (in March, brrr!) with a finish in Prospect Park; through it all, it has remained a fun and celebratory tour of Brooklyn. Learn more about the race's history.
