Cómo llegar a la NYRR Newport 5K

We're just days away from the NYRR Newport 5K, taking place May 7 in Jersey City, NJ. No matter where you’re traveling from—the five boroughs of NYC, within the Garden State, or beyond—you’ll find info here to get to the start. Check out the course map.

If you can, pick up your race number and T-shirt at the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub before race morning so you can save time on May 7.

PATH

The PATH (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) rail system links Essex and Hudson counties in New Jersey to New York City and is a convenient option for many NYC runners.

• The PATH system accepts MetroCards, but you must add value to an unlimited MetroCard. A one-way fare is $2.75.
• PATH trains will operate on a Sunday schedule on race day. The World Trade Center PATH station is closed on Sundays.
• Take the Journal Square–bound PATH from Manhattan (33rd Street, 23rd Street, 14th Street, 9th Street, or Christopher Street). This train stops in Hoboken (a mile from the start) and Newport (about a quarter-mile from the start).
• The journey from 33rd Street to Newport is about 20 minutes; see the Sunday schedule here. 
• For PATH service from Newark Penn Station, you can take a Journal Square–bound train and transfer at Journal Square for service to Newport, or you can stay on the train until Exchange Place, which is about 1 1/4-mile from the Newport 5K start.

Other Trains

If you're coming from other parts of New Jersey, you can take New Jersey Transit service to Hoboken; the Hoboken terminal is less than a mile from the NYRR Newport 5K start. Or you can take New Jersey Transit to Newark Penn Station and transfer to the PATH.

Hudson-Bergen Light Rail

Hudson-Bergen Light Rail is a streetcar service operated by New Jersey Transit; the Newport light rail station is located just south of the Newport PATH station. At the station, be sure to validate your ticket on the platform before boarding. 

Driving / Car Service

Parking will be available in Jersey City at the following locations:

• Newport North Garage (entrance on 60 Mall Drive East, across from Sears)
• Newport South Garage (entrance on 2 Mall Drive East, across from JCPenney) 

Please note that payment must be made upon exiting at either the exit lane or an automated machine. NYRR neither controls nor operates these parking lots and garages and is not responsible for setting rates, refund policies, rules, and/or procedures.

If you take a car service, use Marin Boulevard and Newport Parkway or Marin Boulevard and 14th Street as your drop-off location to avoid road closures. View these locations on the course map.
