NYRR's premier event, and the largest marathon in the world, is the TCS New York City Marathon. Held annually on the first Sunday in November, the 26.2-mile race runs through the five boroughs of New York City—Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan—and features 50,000 runners, from the world's top professional athletes to a vast range of competitive, recreational, and charity runners. More than one million spectators line the city streets to cheer on the runners, while millions more watch the live television broadcast in the United States and around the world. We couldn't do it without help from sponsors, broadcasters, city agencies, and other key partners—both on and off the course.
And throughout the year, NYRR members and other fitness enthusiasts take part in more than 100 running and walking events in and around New York City, from weekly races to community health events, group workouts, youth programs, and more.
