Marathon Runners from All Five Boroughs to Open the TCS New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo Thursday, October 30

More than 100 Vendors and Exhibitors to Sell Merchandise, Offer Samples, and Free Activities for the Public

Tens of thousands of registered runners will pick up their race bibs, collect souvenirs, and gain valuable pre-race advice from more than 100 exhibitors. Participants in the Foot Locker Five-Borough Challenge will officially open the TCS New York City Marathon Health and Fitness Expo at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 30th from 9:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, West 35th Street and 11th Avenue, Manhattan. 

Media hours for the Expo are Thursday, October 30th and Friday, October 31st from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Saturday, November 1st from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Eleventh Avenue at West 35th Street. Media must check-in at the Race-week Media Center on the second floor.

Admission to the Expo is free and open to the public, and will give marathoners and guests the opportunity to visit over 100 vendors and exhibitors from around the world, including the Marathon Store, presented by ASICS, and the TCS New York City Marathon Get Your New York On Experience presented by NYRR. This exhibit features touchscreen technology from Tata Consultancy Services and allows marathoners, spectators, and running fans to journey through the five boroughs and head through the finish line arches to receive a commemorative prize! All marathoners will get to try the NYRR Intelligent Race Predictor presented by TCS for the most accurate marathon finish-time prediction. Spectators will have the opportunity to create signs and show their neighborhood pride with borough-specific signs to support their loved ones.

The Expo will also feature an autograph signing with 2013 NYC Half Champion Wilson Kipsang on Thursday, October 30th at 5 p.m. and a Women’s Panel featuring 2008 USA Olympian Blake Russell, two-time USA champion Annie Bersagel, Director of Nutrition Energy NYC Lauren Antonucci, and five-time Olympic Trials qualifier Gordon Bakoulis on Friday, November 1st at 1 p.m.
