2014 NYC Half to Be Televised Internationally for First Time

New York, March 13, 2014—This year, for the first time ever, the NYC Half will be televised globally. The race, which will take place on Sunday, March 16, features several enhancements this year, including a new course configuration that will accommodate an increase in the field size—up to 20,000 finishers—and an inaugural professional wheelchair race. The event will showcase talented American and international professional athlete fields, including the United Kingdom’s Olympic and world champion Mo Farah and Kenya’s two-time New York City Marathon champion Geoffrey Mutai.

Below are the details of the international outlets on which the race will be broadcast:

EuroSport

EuroSport’s multi-platform offering will air the NYC Half in 74 countries and 21 languages. The program will air live on the EuroSport player on Sunday, March 16.  Delayed broadcast coverage of the NYC Half will air on Eurosport at 1:00 p.m. CET on March 17, and repeat coverage will air on Europsort 2, with the exact schedule still being determined.

BBC Red Button (United Kingdom)

The NYC Half will be broadcast LIVE on the BBC Red Button, BBC’s interactive channel, available in 20 million homes, covering about 80 percent of the United Kingdom.

Sony Six (India)

Sony Six will broadcast the NYC Half on Monday, March 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. IST.

Sport1 (Israel) 

Sport1 will broadcast coverage of the NYC Half Marathon live.

Digi Sport (Czech Republic and Slovak Republic)

Digi Sport will broadcast coverage of the NYC Half live.

Fox Sports (Australia)

Fox Sports Australia will broadcast coverage of the NYC Half during the week of March 17.

Globosat (Brazil)

Globosat will broadcast coverage of the NYC Half on a delay (exact schedule to be determined).

SKY Mexico (Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua, Belize, Dominican Republic, Guatemala) SKY Mexico will broadcast coverage of the NYC Half on a delay (exact schedule to be determined).

ESPN Sur (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay)

ESPN Sur will broadcast coverage of the NYC Half on a delay (exact schedule to be determined).
