On the birthday of Ted Corbitt, our founding president and a pioneering figure in running, and as we kick off Black History Month, NYRR is pleased to announce the Corbitt Historian Fellowship.

Ceremonially named in honor of the legendary Ted Corbitt, the fellowship will seek to Inspire careers in public service and ensure inclusive telling of running history.

We are seeking a Fellow who will be responsible for helping to establish a systematic process for preserving running history in New York and for NYRR. The Fellow will assist with researching, fact-checking, and ensuring overall accuracy for a wide range of historical projects, from short-form video to an oral history library, newsletter, articles, and more. This is a paid position with an annual salary and benefits for the two-year assignment.

"Ted Corbitt lived his life advancing the sport of running and the New York running community," said Bruno Garcia, NYRR's vice president of marketing and communications. "It is with great pride that we at New York Road Runners name this Fellowship in his honor."
