The seventh-annual Run to Breathe will help those who fight against cystic fibrosis. Team Boomer celebrates living and breathing while encouraging people with disease to incorporate exercise into their everyday lives to help them breathe. One dollar from each race entry fee will benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation.

UAE Healthy Kidney 10K

The 13th edition of the race will be organized by the NYRR and Embassy of the United Arab Emirates. The event offers something for everyone: thrilling performances in Central Park from some of the world's top athletes, a fast course for runners chasing PRs, finisher medals, excellent giveaways and the Zayed Bonus of $30,000 that will be given to the first man to break 27:35 and/or the first woman to break 30:44.

The third event in the spring NYRR Youth Running Series. At this free race in Central Park, boys and girls ages 7 to 18 can shake off the winter blues by running 1.7 miles through Manhattan’s most famous park.

This four-mile race raises funding and awareness in the fight against lung cancer and honors former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman Tom Labrecque, a lifelong never-smoker who died from lung cancer at age 62. Join thousands of others this year and “run as one” to raise money to support lung cancer research and awareness.

The NYRR Youth Jamborees presented by Tata Consultancy Services are an excellent place to learn about track and field. These free, day-long events are held two times a year in premier New York City athletic facilities, including the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in upper Manhattan and Icahn Stadium on Randall's Island. Children of all ages and abilities can participate in running, jumping, or throwing events.

The 14th annual SHAPE Women's Half-Marathon brings together thousands of women of all ages and backgrounds for a day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie in NYC.

NYRR RUNCENTER

Located at 320 West 57th Street in Manhattan, the NYRR RUNCENTER featuring the New Balance Run Hub showcases the latest in running education, training, and innovation, serving as a meeting place for all members of the running community. Autism Awareness Month: A Conversation with Mikey Brannigan
Saturday, April 1, 12:00 p.m.
To kick off Autism Awareness Month, join Paralympic Gold Medalist and New York Athletic Club athlete Mikey Brannigan and coach Sonja Robinson for a discussion on the intricacies of competing and coaching athletes with autism. Speakers will also offer insights for parents and coaches working with autistic athletes.

Race Nutrition 101 with HSS
Monday, April 3, 7:00 p.m.
An expert nutritionist from Hospital for Special Surgery will talk pre-race and race-day nutrition and make sure everyone is fueled and ready to compete.
 
NYRR NYC Running History Tour

Get a taste of the Big Apple’s vibrant past on the NYRR NYC Running History Tour, leaving from the NYRR RUNCenter. Coaches will guide runners at a comfortable 10-minute mile pace past various landmarks significant to the city’s running history, including the Fred Lebow statue and the location of the iconic TCS New York City Marathon finish line. Runners may use the changing rooms at the NYRR RUNCenter to stash their bags in one of the day lockers for the tour.
 
NYRR Family Running Class
Sunday, April 30, 10:00 a.m.
Join New York Road Runners' youth staff for a one-hour coach-led session for families with youth runners ages 6 to 10. The hour will combine exercise and education so both kids and adults can learn and foster healthy relationships with running exercises.


NYRR Open Run

NYRR Striders

New York Road Runners offers 40+ free, coach-led walking sessions every week in senior centers, community facilities, and neighborhood parks across all five boroughs of NYC. The NYRR Striders program is geared toward adults 50+ (younger adults are welcome to participate as well) and aims to improve attitudes toward exercise, to make running and walking more accessible, and to increase the presence of fitness walkers and older adults in NYRR five-borough events year-round.
