Mary Keitany (KEN), first women to win three consecutive New York City Marathons (2014-2016) since Grete Waitz (1982-1986).

Marcel Hug (SUI), two-time New York City Marathon professional men’s wheelchair division champion (2013, 2016), sprinted to a photo finish.

Tatyana McFadden (USA), five-time New York City Marathon professional women’s wheelchair division champion (2010, 2013-2016), and NYRR Team for Kids Ambassador.

Abdi Abdirahman (USA), top American professional men’s field finisher (3rd place overall).

Molly Huddle (USA), top American professional women’s field finisher (3rd place overall) in her marathon debut, and NYRR Team for Kids Ambassador.

Darius Gordon and Rainn Sheppard, Winners of the NYRR Youth Invitational at the TCS New York City Marathon, a 1.8-mile run that began on Central Park’s East Drive at East 85th Street, near mile 24 of the TCS New York City Marathon course, and continued through Central Park to finish at the iconic TCS New York City Marathon finish line.
