On Saturday, April 4, runners will bring their tartan style to Central Park and show their love for Scotland at the 12th annual Scotland Run (10K). It is a part of #Scotweek festivities in New York City. A key part of the annual Scotland Week celebration, Scotland Run attracts runners from across the globe many outfitted in kilts, traditional tartan and face paint. Runners can enjoy the sounds of bagpipes and a park full of cheering spectators.  For more information about the event, please visit here.

NYRR Youth Running Series at the Scotland Run

As part of the NYRR  Youth Running Series, for the first time at the Scotland Run, young runners ages 7-18 can take part in a 1.7-mile race in Central Park.  Kids are invited to dress up and join the fun. For more information about the event, please visit the website here.

This popular event supports the City Parks Foundation which provides vital cultural, educational, and athletic opportunities for New Yorkers of all ages, and strengthens community connections to local parks and green spaces. The 12th Annual MORE/FITNESS/SHAPE Women's Half-Marathon brings together thousands of women of all ages and backgrounds for a day of fun, fitness, and camaraderie in New York City. Special guests Erica Hill and Natalie Morales from the TODAY show will co-host the event, while professional runner Deena Kastor will aim for her third straight victory. This 4-mile race raises funding and awareness in the fight against lung cancer and honors former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman Tom Labrecque, a lifelong never-smoker who died from lung cancer at age 62. Thousands of runners will “run as one” to raise money to support lung cancer research and awareness. For more information about the race, please visit here.

Besides the 4-mile race, participants of all ages are also welcome to join a 1.4-mile walk to show their support. The walk will begin on Central Park's East Drive at approximately 68th Street and head south, and finish on the Transverse at Bethesda Terrace.
