For nearly a decade, New York Road Runners and the Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation have provided a day of honor, remembrance, and inspiration to thousands in the colorectal cancer community. Today in Central Park, some 6,000 people participated in 15K and 4-mile runs, as well as the 1.7-mile Remembrance & Prevention Walk, united in their hope for a world without a disease that affects 150,000 people in the United States each year.
Many finishers in the New York Colon Cancer Challenge 4-Mile ran in memory of those who have lost a battle with the disease, which claims 150,000 lives in the United States each year.
