The Mini attracts some of the best runners in the world. This serves as inspiration for the New York area’s top runners, who came out in force for this year’s 38th running of the original women-only road race, held in their Central Park backyard. As an NYRR team-points event, the Mini also inspired fierce—but friendly—competition among local clubs.

Buzunesh Deba of the Westchester Track Club (WTC) ran 33:32 to place seventh overall and first among local finishers.

Aziza Aliyu, also of WTC, finished 11th overall and second among locals (33:50).

The third local finisher was WTC’s Ilsa Paulson, just 20 years old; her time was 34:01.

Alemtsehay Misganaw of adidas East Women was the fourth local, in 34:33.

Abbi Antablin, fifth local in 35:22, was part of the winning New York Athletic Club open team.
