Dereje Hailegiorgis of West Side Runners (WSX) broke the tape in 19:33. He won by 22 seconds and led his team to an open’s men’s victory.


Oleksander Holovnytskyy (#517) of Warren Street (WS), emerged from this pack to take second place in 19:55. Jorge Eleicer Real (#391) of WSX ended up sixth.


Third place overall went to Mykola Rudyk of WS. He ran 20:07 and helped WS to a fourth-place open men’s team finish.


Daniel Wallace-Periac led his Greater New York Racing Team (GNY) to a second-place open men’s finish. He ran 20:13 for fourth place overall.


Chris Ellis-Ferrara, fifth in 20:21, led a rejuvenated New York Athletic Club (NYAC) to a third-place open men’s team finish.


Paul Thompson, 42, of WS (#663) ran full-out for his masters (40+) victory in 20:36. He was eighth overall, just behind Felipe Garcia (#557) of WSX.


Michael Cassidy of GNY took ninth overall in 20:37—an excellent time for the hot, humid weather.


John MacConnell of Front Runners New York (FRNY) led his team with his 14th-place finish in 20:58.


Armando Oliveira of the Nike Central Park Track Club (CPTC) was the second 40+ male; he ran 21:25. His teammate Stuart Calderwood was first 50+ in 22:29; top 60+ was Sang Lee of the Korean Road Runners Club in 24:37.


Katerina Janosikova of Moving Comfort New York was flanked by FRNY’s Steven Vizena (#468) and Robert Lennon (#286) and GNY’s David Winter.


Lesley Higgins, fresh from making the final of the U.S. Olympic Trials steeplechase, won the women’s race in 22:26 and led her NYAC squad to the open team title.


Maria Alves Veira of WSX took third among women after fighting for the lead for four miles. She ran 22:59.


The talent on Megan Guiney’s NYAC team was so deep that, although she ran 24:07 and was the 11th woman overall, she was the seventh NYAC finisher!


Sheila Casey of the Rockland Road Runners took 12th in the women’s race in 24:11. Watch out, masters women—she’s 39.


Jill Vollweiler of CPTC won the 40-44 division in 24:24—but WS’s Zofia Wieciorkowska, 45, was one place ahead in 24:12. First 50+ was Marie Wickham of MCNY in 26:51; Lee McLaughlin of Taconic Road Runners was first 60+ in 31:22.


Elizabeth Rose Mayeda of CPTC was her team’s third scorer, and 15th woman overall, in 24:25.


Celene Menschel of NYAC finished 22nd among women in 25:01.


Jean Chodnicki-Stemm of WS was third in the women’s 45-49 age group in 26:25.


Megan Shackleton’s 25:53 was good for 34th place among women and put her in the second scoring position for her GNY team.


Shebna Olsen, 38, led her Westchester Track Club team in a time of 27:05; she was the 59th woman overall.
