[Norway Run Results] [Grete's Great Gallop Results]
The Norwegian Festival included fitness, culture, and fun for all ages. The cool early-autumn temperature helped promote fast race times in the Norway Run and Grete’s Great Gallop. After the races, participants enjoyed Norwegian food, music, and activities.

The Norwegian Festival combines fitness and culture into one celebration.


A 1.7-mile race, the Norway Run had more than 1,700 participants.


The ever-popular Grete’s Great Gallop, a half-marathon, included close to 4,000 runners.


Spirits were high at the start of the Gallop, and runners enjoyed crisp, cool weather.


Sun Gengdong of Forest Hills celebrated his 1:27:45 effort.


Elizabeth Drake of Fred’s Team averaged an 8:15 pace-per-mile to finish in 1:48:13.


A thumbs up and a smile showed that Olegario Espana of the Bronx had a good time.


Nine-time New York City Marathon winner Grete Waitz proudly held the finish line tape.


Mohammed Awol of WTC won the Norway Run in 8:11.


Cara Macari was the first female to cross the finish line at the Norway Run.


It was 1-2-3 for West Side Runners Tesfaye Girma (first), Dereje Hailegiorgis (second), and Teklu Deneke.


NYAC’s Caroline Bierbaum broke the tape in the women’s race in 1:16:49.


Front Runners friends enjoyed warm waffles after their hard efforts.


New York Times writer Liz Robbins promoted her new book, A Race Like No Other.


Children dashed toward the finish line in the Troll Stroll.


Some little ones had two helping hands to make it to the finish.
