Joshua Burke (left) of Austin, Texas, ran arm-in-arm with local buddy Adam Lipp. Burke finished in 55:36 and Lipp finished one second later.


Patrick Makau of Kenya made a very strong New York debut—in fact, his 28:19 finish was just 11 seconds shy of the Central Park course record.

Local superstar Aziza Aliyu of the Westchester Track Club was elated to win her seventh consecutive title in New York over the past year.


Zaabi Ali (UAE) of Manhattan was pleased with his 33:21 finish.


Yumi Ogita of the Nike Central Park Track Club was the third woman in her age group; she ran 40:52.


Healthy competition drove Cassandra Miller of the Reservoir Dogs and Joel Chatfield of the New York Harriers to a close finish; Miller ran 41:19 and Chatfield followed in 41:33.


Michael Gargiulo of Brooklyn was pumped about his sub-7:00-per-mile pace. He finished in 42:41.


Nigel Francis of Manhattan apparently wanted the roads clear for his 46:44 finish.

Michelle Silvino of Manhattan could hardly believe her 47:03 finish.
