This year, there are amazing prize packages* to be won, including offers to experience three cities in Scotland.
1st place female
This year, the Glasgow prize package celebrates the life and work of the world-renowned artist, designer and architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868 – 1928), as the city prepares to celebrate the Centenary of one of its most iconic buildings, The Glasgow School of Art, designed by Mackintosh.
The prize package includes:
- Continental Airlines certificate (up to US$1,000) towards airfare to Glasgow.
- Guaranteed entry for two in the 2009 Great Scottish Run supported by Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland. Option to run a half-marathon or 10K on Sunday 6th September 2009, courtesy of Culture & Sport Glasgow.

- A trip for two on the Mackintosh Experience Bus Tour to take you round the city to enjoy the architectural splendours of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
- A fabulous afternoon tea for two at the remarkable Willow Tea Rooms in Sauchiehall Street, one of the buildings he designed 100 years ago.
1st place male
The prize package includes:
- Continental Airlines certificate (up to US$1,000) towards airfare to Edinburgh.
- Guaranteed entry on 31 May 2009 for two people in the Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon – this year, voted by Runners World magazine as “best race of any distance in Scotland”. Follow the 26.2 mile course through the capital city from historic Princes Street to the finish line at famous Musselburgh Racecourse. Or enter the Hairy Haggis Team Relay which consists of four people splitting the marathon distance between them and running one leg each.
- Accommodations for two people for two nights in Scotland’s glorious capital city at the new Hotel du Vin & Bistro, Edinburgh.
- A champagne lunch or dinner for two people in the Harvey Nichols ‘Forth Floor Restaurant’, sponsored by Harvey Nichols.
Raffle
The Grand Prize package includes:
- Continental Airlines certificate (up to US$500) towards airfare to Edinburgh.
- Entry for two to the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running in Inverness on October 3 and 4, 2009 (with an option of Marathon, 10K or 5K routes). Celebrate Scotland’s Year of Homecoming by joining the Run Home Highland Breakfast Fun Run on October 3rd, a scenic 5K route, and the Run Home Clan Challenge on October 4th. A Monster event through spectacular Highland scenery and alongside the shores of the world famous Loch Ness.
- Accommodations for two people at the 4-star Kingsmills Hotel in the Scottish Highlands. This sympathetically extended 17th century residence has been refurbished in a traditional and elegant style and features spacious, deluxe bedrooms. Kingsmills is offering a three night stay with bed and breakfast.
- Return train fares for two people from Edinburgh to Inverness will be provided as part of the prize.
Additional raffle prizes are provided by Glasgow Mackintosh, such as beautiful pewter frames in the Glasgow Style and other gifts based on the designs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, including decorative ceramic tiles and pewter finger plates for doors. All prize gifts are crafted in Scotland.

No reimbursement given for unused portion of airfare certificates; winners responsible for any cost of airline tickets above the amount of the airfare certificate. Raffle winners will be selected through a random drawing following the race; race entrants may submit bib tabs for raffle on race day before or immediately after the race; participants must be present to win.
