Homecoming Scotland Run - Saturday, April 11/ 10K (6.2 Miles): 10:00 a.m. / Central Park, New York / S, Q, C, +(M/W)

To enhance the runner experience, and to better share Central Park with other park users, this race will be capped. NYRR will announce when registration has closed. Until that time, registration is available to all runners.

Get on your mark and get set to run to the rhythm of the drums and the sound of the bagpipes at the Scotland Run 2009! Join in the Scotland Week celebrations and register for this 10K in Central Park.

Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Central Park's West Drive at 62nd Street. Head North on West Drive and complete one full loop of the park. Continue to the finish on West Drive adjacent to Tavern on the Green.

Number Pickup /Registration

Please note that there is no number pickup/registration on Wednesday. Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:

• Thursday, April 9, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, April 10, Noon-7:00 p.m.

On race day, Saturday, April 11, check-in/registration will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Central Park at the registration tent near the start.

Post-Race

To celebrate Scotland Week, bagpipers and drums will entertain participants during the awards ceremony following the Homecoming Scotland Run 10K. Awards will be given in all applicable NYRR categories. [Awards breakdown]

Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2009 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2010. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If you are planning to use this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
