Did you know that heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 3 causes of death nationwide? You can make a difference in your life and the lives of others by participating in the American Heart Association Start! Wall Street Run & Heart Walk! Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association, an organization dedicated to reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke through education and research. Last year, more than 9,000 men and women participated.
Course
The AHA Wall Street Run & Heart Walk will travel a circuitous route through Lower Manhattan, starting on Murray Street (Fourth Place) at North End Avenue and finishing on the Esplanade. The exact route is as follows: Head east from the start on Murray Street (Fourth Place), turn right on Church Street, left on Liberty Street, right on William Street, right on Beaver Street, left on Broad Street, left on Pearl Street, right on Fletcher Street, right on Water Street (turns into State Street and continues along Battery Park), left on Battery Place, left on Third Street, and right on the Esplanade to the finish near Liberty Street.

Number Pickup /Registration
Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips (runners only), and race souvenirs at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) on:
• Monday, May 19, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
On race day, Tuesday, May 20, entrants may pick up their materials in the American Express Lobby, 3 World Financial Center (enter from West Street), between 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. The race starts promptly at 6:45 p.m. To ease congestion on race day, NYRR asks that participants exit the American Express lobby after receiving their materials.

Post Race
Join us after the race for the awards ceremony. Awards will be given in applicable NYRR running categories. In addition, the top fiver coporate teams registered with the American Heart Association will receive awards. The first-place team will have its name engraved on the Corporate Cup.

Rules of Competition
All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules.
