NYRR Joe Kleinerman 10K - Sunday, December 9 / 10K (6.2M) • 9:30 a.m. / S, Q, + (M/W)

The legacy of NYRR founder Joe Kleinerman lives on with his namesake 10K. This wintry run not only pays tribute to Kleinerman, who passed away in 2003, but it also benefits a scholarship fund in his name for scholastic runners. $1 of your registration fee goes directly to the fund, and additional donations can be made during registration.

Note: Participants must be at least 12 years old.

Course

All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.

Start on Central Park’s East Drive at 102nd Street and head north. Complete one full loop of the park, then turn left/west onto the 102nd Street Transverse to the finish.

Number Pickup /Registration

Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs in advance. Materials make be picked up at the NYRR, 9 East 89th Street, on:

• Thursday, December 6, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, December 7, 1:00-7:00 p.m
• Saturday, December 8, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
• Sunday, December 9, 8:00-9:00 a.m.

Avoid the last-minute crowds and possible delays by registering and picking up your race materials before race morning, or as early as possible on race morning. Please note that there will be no registration or check-in at the race location. Race souvenirs may also be picked up after the race at NYRR while supplies last.

Post Race

Join us after the race at a location to be announced for hot chocolate and bagels. Awards will be given in all applicable NYRR age categories and can be picked up at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street) any time after the race. Race Scoring

This is a scored race that counts toward the nine races NYRR members as of January 2007 need to be eligible for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008. The race is timed using the ChampionChip® system. You must complete the race with your chip attached to your shoe or your time will not be recorded. Please follow the instructions in your race packet on attaching the chip to your shoe and then returning the chip following the race. Note that you will be charged $35 if you do not return the chip within 20 days.

Baggage Facilities

Free baggage facilities will be provided as a convenience. If using this baggage service, bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. New York Road Runners is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Rules of Competition

All NYRR races are organized and directed under USA Track & Field rules and regulations. Entrants must also comply with City of New York, Parks & Recreation and NYRR rules. Failure to do so may result in offenders being disqualified and possibly banned from NYRR events, including the ING New York City Marathon. [Click here for rules.]
