The only race in the NYRR Half-Marathon Grand Prix that takes place on mainland USA, the NYRR Bronx Half-Marathon is the second race in the five course Grand Prix.
Course
All courses are subject to change. Check back here the day before the race for final confirmation.
The 13-Mile course will take you south on Goulden Avenue. Turn right on 195th Street, and then right on Sedgwick Avenue to Mosholu Parkway to a turnaround at Marion & Hull Avenues. Retrace the route to 195th Street. Turn left onto Goulden Avenue, and then right onto Bedford Park Boulevard, left onto Paul Avenue and then right onto Mosholu Parkway. Make a quick right onto the Grand Concourse to a turnaround at 179th Street, and return to Mosholu Parkway. Turn right and continue to the same turnaround at Marion & Hull Avenues. Coming back on Mosholu Parkway, turn onto Goulden Avenue to the Finish Line. Click here to view the course map.
Lemon-Lime Gatorade Endurance Formula sports drink will be available at official fluid stations throughout the course. This specialized sports drink has a unique, five electrolyte blend (including sodium and potassium) designed to meet the needs of athletes during endurance competitions.
Number Pickup/Registration
Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenir
(sizes subject to availability)
in advance. Materials may be picked up at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street, between Madison and Fifth Avenues) on:
• Thursday, February 8, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, February 9, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Saturday, February 10, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Near the start in Harris Park at Bedford Park Boulevard and Goulden Avenue on:
• Sunday, February 11, 6:30-7:30 a.m.
Note: Participants must be at least 12 years old.
Directions
Subway: Take the 4 or D trains to Bedford Park Boulevard/Lehman College and walk west on Bedford Park Boulevard to the start at Goulden Avenue.
By car: Take the Major Deegan Expressway to the Fordham Road exit and drive east on Fordham Road to Jerome Avenue. Turn left on Jerome Avenue to Bedford Park Boulevard. The start is two blocks west at Goulden Avenue. Roads near the start will close by 7:15 a.m. Please plan accordingly.
Time Limit
Participants will be timed up to three hours. After that time, medical facilities and refreshments will not be available. Members who finish after three hours can receive credit toward qualifying for guaranteed entry to the ING New York City Marathon 2008 but will not have a time listed in the race results; e-mail results@nyrr.org to get credit for the race.
